South Dakota State held steady at No. 1 on the Talking Pigskin Division I FCS Top 25 ballot after doubling up fellow top-10 inhabitant Missouri State, 28-14.

Three of 54 Stats Perform voters listed the SDSU Jackrabbits in the top spot.

North Dakota State, which has held the official No. 1 ranking in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 since winning the national championship last January, garnered 44 first-place votes while 4-and-0 Montana pulled in the other seven top nods.

While Bobby Petrino’s Bears drop two spots to No. 7 on the Talking Pigskin ballot, Sacramento State jumped up to the No. 5 ranking. The Hornets are the Talking Pigskin FCS Team of the Week after throttling FBS member Colorado State, 41-10.

Atlantic Sun member Austin Peay (24) and CAA member Elon (25) both broke onto the ballot this week following top-25 wins. The Governors topped Eastern Kentucky, 31-20, while Elon edged William & Mary, 35-31.
