Weber State became the fourth Big Sky Conference member to occupy one of the top eight slots on Talking Pigskin’s weekly Division I FCS Top 25 ballot.
Following a convincing victory over Eastern Washington, Weber State ascended to No. 8 overall and joined fellow Big Sky teams Montana (3), Montana State (4) and Sacramento State (5) amongst the nation’s elite.
Jay Hill’s Wildcats have allowed only seven total touchdowns through their first five games, ranking fifth on the NCAA FCS leader board in scoring defense (11.8 ppg). Weber State boasts a top-20 offense that averages 436.6 yards per outing. The Wildcats’ balanced attack accounts for 202.0 yards per game on the ground.
Meanwhile, William & Mary moved up to No. 10 overall on the ballot after a 27-21 triumph over CAA rival Delaware, which slid down to the No. 14 slot. The Tribe lead a group of five CAA teams on the Top 25 ballot.
