Launched during the 2022 NFL Draft Season, Talking Pigskin looks to provide readers with an alternate take on the professional football landscape as well as the happenings in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).
Talking Pigskin offers coverage of key national headlines while also spotlighting the more unheralded names of the game. In addition to tracking the success of FCS alumni in the professional ranks, the website aims to highlight the meaningful connections that exist between the NFL and FCS.
Site founder Ralph Ventre, who has always found intrigue in “small-school” players, offers a unique perspective as a life-long football fan who spent 15 seasons as conference press officer at the FCS level. He also attended an FCS school as a university undergraduate.
