Selecting a second prospect from the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision at the 2022 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots took South Dakota State running back Pierre Strong, Jr. in the fourth round at No. 127 overall.
After swapping First Round picks on Draft Night and sending the No. 21 selection to the Kansas City Chiefs, the New England Patriots drafted Chattanooga offensive lineman Cole Strange 29th overall. It marked the first time since 2008 that multiple FCS prospects were selected in the First Round.
