Football Coverage from AFC East to NCAA FCS
Here’s an NFL Preseason check-in on the crop of UDFA rookie pass-catchers from the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision - a group that includes Lance McCutcheon (Montana State), Tyshaun James (Central Connecticut) and Dai'Jean Dixon (Nicholls State).
In what was a UConn-organized event, three kids from local FCS programs stole the show. Sacred Heart’s Julius Chestnut and Josh Sokol along with Central Connecticut’s Tyshaun James all signed NFL contracts after grabbing scouts’ attention at the Huskies Pro Day.
There will be plenty of FCS alumni who fly under the draftniks’ radar, but still manage to earn a serious look from an NFL club. Tyshaun James, Anthony Budd and Ezra Gray are three lesser-known FCS prospects with NFL Draft dreams.
